Edition Notes
Hildegaard Immortelle is sourced from wild Helichrysum italicum cultivated in Serbia through long-term partnerships with women-led producers committed to regenerative and fully traceable agricultural practices. The plants are grown and harvested using sustainable methods that preserve ecological integrity and regional botanical continuity.
The Serbian chemotype is distinguished by a naturally rich aromatic profile and phytochemical complexity, valued in botanical science for constituents studied in relation to skin resilience and visible signs of environmental stress.
Within cosmetic formulation, Immortelle is regarded for its contribution to skin renewal processes and for supporting the appearance of firmness, clarity, and even tone over time.
Across herbal traditions, Helichrysum has been associated with vitality and persistence—qualities reflected in its enduring form and its historical role in preparations concerned with restoration and care.
THE ANOINTING
Immortelle carries the memory of the sun. Hildegard von Bingen understood certain plants as bearing within them the concentrated intelligence of their conditions across time. Immortelle is this in its fullest expression: viriditas not as spring freshness but as the enduring luminosity of a plant.
Place two or three drops into the palm. Bring the hands together and feel the weight of what is held there — this oil is dense with time, with season upon season of mountain light absorbed and faithfully held. Hold the hands over the face and wait for the fragrance to fully declare itself — honeyed, resinous, ancient, carrying beneath its abstract sweetness something mineral and absolute. This is the testimony of a plant that knows what endures. Receive it. Then anoint the face and neck slowly, with the reverence the oil itself embodies — from brow to temple, cheek to mandible, throat to collarbone, the column of the temple anointed last.
THE BOTANICAL FOUNDATION
Every Hildegaard Haute Botanical Facial Oil is composed entirely of botanical ingredients, with a minimum of 98% organically cultivated origin. Each carrier oil is virgin, cold-pressed, and unrefined, preserving the full lipid integrity and native biological architecture of the plant.
Rosehip seed (Rosa canina) supports epidermal renewal and contributes to a more uniform tone across the skin’s surface. Pomegranate seed (Punica granatum) reinforces lipid structure and helps maintain the skin’s underlying firmness and tensile quality. Camellia seed (Camellia oleifera) enhances hydration retention and restores suppleness to the stratum corneum. Golden jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) closely mirrors human sebum and helps regulate surface lipid balance, supporting a stable and coherent skin environment.
Borage (Borago officinalis) strengthens barrier function and supports skin comfort under conditions of sensitivity. Prickly pear seed (Opuntia ficus-indica) enhances lipid flexibility and contributes to a smoother, more refined skin texture. Red raspberry (Rubus idaeus) supports the skin’s resilience to environmental stressors and helps maintain dermal equilibrium. Evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) and sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) support cellular renewal processes and contribute to long-term tone uniformity and vitality.
Within this lipid foundation is a compendium of botanicals drawn from Western, Ayurvedic, and East Asian traditions of herbal preparation.
Centella asiatica supports connective tissue integrity and is traditionally used in preparations concerned with dermal repair and structural renewal. Calendula officinalis and Chamomilla recutita help reduce the sensation of reactivity and support cutaneous calm. Curcuma longa and Camellia sinensis provide antioxidant support and help protect the skin from oxidative stress linked to environmental exposure. Echinacea purpurea and Achillea millefolium are traditionally used to support purification processes and the reduction of congestion in the skin. Salvia rosmarinus and Salvia officinalis support microbial balance and help maintain a clarified skin environment. Silybum marianum supports cellular protection and contributes to the preservation of skin integrity within botanical traditions.
Together, these botanicals form a structured lipid and herbal system designed to support barrier integrity, lipid balance, epidermal renewal, and long-term cutaneous resilience—the skin understood as a living, self-organizing organ of perception and protection.
